Board of Directors

Meet the Board of Directors of GEHCA and if you see any of them in the neighborhood, be sure to say hello!

Damian Whitham

Damian lives with his wife, Lydia and 17 year old daughter, Megan.  Megan is a junior at Washington Waldorf School.  His other daughter, Michelle lives in New York and works at the Sesame Street Workshop. The Whithams moved to neighborhood in 2014 from Falls Church, Virginia and only wish they had moved here back in 2000 after relocating from Miami, Florida.  Damian enjoys running along the Potomac, working out, playing golf and is an avid reader of history and politics.  Although he prefers to play sports as opposed to watching them he enjoys watching the Washington Capitals.  Damian is a Wake Forest graduate and is a Vice President for Corporate Office Property Trust (COPT) Columbia, Maryand.

First Vice President

Lisa Owens

Lisa moved to Glen Echo Heights in August 2006.  Two months later she was asked to help out with the annual Halloween Party and never looked back.  She celebrated her 10th anniversary Haunted Trail this year and is now passing the baton to parents with younger children.  Lis currently teaches fitness and self-defense at FitCrush, paints as often as she can and works domestically and international to help combat violence against women.  Prior to FitCrush, Lisa was a small business owner in Bethesda for 4 years; spent 6 years as a Legislative Assistant in the U.S. House of Representatives for members representing districts in Chicago and Los Angeles.  She currently resides on River Hill Road with her husband, Dan and their 4 children and dog, Gifford.

Second Vice President

Lorraine O'Hara

Lorraine is a native Washingtonian (born at the old Sibley Hospital on North Capitol Street) and a graduate of the University of Maryland.  She and her husband Rupert have lived in other countries and returned to the area with the purchase of their first house in Wood Acres.  They moved to their current home on Wehawken Road in June 1992 with their 3 now grown and on their own children.  She retired from a 30-year professional career in 2008 and still does occasional management consulting.

Eluned Schweitzer

Eluned has been a resident of Glen Echo Heights with her family for over 20 years.  Now retired along with her husband Julian, they enjoy the returning visits of their children Vivien and Gareth with their families.  Eluned has had various careers, training as an anthropologist, teaching and working overseas development for a large development agency and the charity, Save the Children as a specialist in social service programs in conflict and post conflict setting.  She is now involved in several local charities, plays the violin and enjoys being a glass artist. "I have benefited from GEHCA for many years, most recently becoming involved in the tree and garden committee and monitoring activity on increased aircraft noise."

Deb Klotz and Rob Schlossberg

Deb and Rob have lived in the Glen Echo Heights neighborhood for 5 and a half years.  They love the neighborhood, the community and its history and heritage.  They spend most of their time divided between their Bethesda dental practice and their two boys (ages 5 and 2) and the Glen Echo Heights neighborhood.  "We simply couldn't imagine a better place to live, with a better bunch of people.  We are excited to help further the GEHCA for another great year."
